5. closing disclosure issued
Your mortgage is almost ready now. Per Federal laws to protect consumers, you’ll receive a copy of your closing disclosure (CD) three business days prior to closing to ensure that you have had plenty of time to review the closing documents.
Closing is the final step in the mortgage process. It sometimes is also referred to as settlement. This is when all of the funds are distributed to the various parties, and all of the paperwork is finalized and signed.
